They were lumped into a catagory of "left over glam"/"heavy metal" along with early Girl and Japan before the switch to the Blitz Kids-type sound/image. Steve Jones and Paul Cook used to spend interviews in their Professionals days attacking bands such as Lep because they wore something other than torn up things.Quote:

You can always tell a band that immediately set out to glam it to the max. Again I mention the Pretty Boy Floyd album for an example. But how about bands like Slamhound, which were powerful and almost thrash sounding but had the full-on glam image. Or who remembers Pharoah and Phantasm? If you just heard them on the radio you wouldn't have dreamed that they could be classed as glamsters. But then you see a picture and they made Poison look like Henry Rollins!!!!!!
Just an opinion, what do you guys think...????
Early Lep was great! The so-called NWOBHM was really good, and a much needed antidote to punk bullshit.
Was the USA Phantasm from New Jersey?
